Creative Director

HERBBIE MACCIO
JENKINS.

Herbbie Maccio Jenkins is a dancer, choreographer, educator, and LAX BLaaK's Creative Director. Raised in South Los Angeles, he began creating community through Instant Replay before earning scholarships to Cornish College of the Arts and the Joffrey Ballet School.

A six-season Principal dancer with Spectrum Dance Theater, Jenkins has led Street Level Dance and worked across concert, commercial, modern, and ballet stages. He later earned an MFA on full scholarship from UCLA's World Arts and Cultures program and has taught at UCLA, Santa Monica College, Chapman University, and IDA Hollywood.

After surviving a near-fatal shooting in 2025, he continues to lead with renewed purpose, creating exacting work that gives artists and communities room to transform.
